For someone so young, seventeen-year-old Bellaydin has weathered much pain. His parents, Alusine and Eleanor, were not a well-matched pair. They had been married at the behest of the King to settle a political dispute, and had never truly had a happy marriage. But things took a turn for the worse when they were murdered by a deranged cultist shortly after Bellaydin’s fifth birthday.
For safety, Bellaydin, along with his elder sister, was spirited out of Emparia to spend the next twelve years in Aderilund. Though he was far from the reach of the cultists who murdered his parents he was now the only human in a land of elves and felt the sting of their prejudice daily. Mal-halyth, the elven word for one of inferior, human blood was thrown at him with spiteful intent.
